Bible Verse Counts

Reproducible counts of Bible verses and phrases, so claims that circulate online can be checked rather than repeated.

The "fear not" count

A widely shared devotional claim says the phrase "fear not" appears 365 times in the Bible — one for every day of the year. That number cannot be reproduced from any published translation.

In the King James Version, the exact phrase "fear not" occurs in 62 verses. Related forms such as "fear thou not" and "be not afraid" appear separately and should be counted separately.
